Trump abandons Taiwan, then Ukraine again
Trump's blaming everything on past presidents while making the calculation that Taiwan isn't worth defending. Says the island is too small, China is too strong, and we're too far away. Meanwhile he's simultaneously selling out Ukraine and Israel gets whatever it wants.
The pattern is transparent: Trump abandons every democratic ally except the ones he thinks are strategically useful or profitable. Taiwan gets the cold shoulder because he thinks the game is already lost. Ukraine got abandoned because he never cared. But if there's money or leverage in it for him, suddenly America's got a dog in the fight.
This is what happens when foreign policy becomes a real estate deal.
Trump on Taiwan: When you look at the odds, China is very, very powerful, big country. That's a very small island. Think of it, it's 59 miles away. We're 9500 miles away. That's a little bit of a difficult problem. Taiwan was developed because we had presidents that didn't know what the hell they were doing. They stole our chip industry.
