SPR collapse means real energy chaos coming
US Strategic Petroleum Reserve is dropping toward minimum operating levels. Once it hits the floor, there's no buffer left when production gets disrupted, supply shocks hit, or geopolitics explodes in the Strait.
This isn't some distant worry. The grid is already fragile, global energy markets are a tinderbox, and we've spent the last months escalating with Iran instead of thinking about what happens when there's nowhere left to draw from.
The joke about learning to ride a bike isn't funny because it's absurd. It's funny because it might actually become necessary.
The US Strategic Petroleum Reserve is now ~19MM barrels away from estimated minimum operating levels. There very soon will no longer be a safety buffer to protect the world from further losses out of the Strait.
