Soldiers leak photos: bases are getting shredded
Active duty troops sent anonymous photos to CBS showing exactly how badly the air defense is failing across the Middle East. Not the sanitized Pentagon version. The actual wreckage.
Prince Sultan Air Base: E-3 Sentry with its tail torn off and fuselage charred black. Buildings hollowed out while concrete fortifications built for mortar attacks sit untouched, useless against missiles fired from 300 miles away.
Camp Buehring: rows of trailers destroyed. Vehicles burned out in the open.
Camp Arifjan: structural damage at the largest American logistics hub in the region.
The IG found nearly 60 aircraft lost, $3.7 billion in equipment across eight countries.
One soldier: "We're standing there with our eyes closed getting punched in the face." Another: "We're not defending these bases. We're just watching them get destroyed."
Hegseth called the missiles that killed six at Shuaiba "squirters" - his word for the ones that slip past working defense. Except the defense isn't working. The people inside the wire know it. Now everyone does.
