The British Museum systematically scrubbed "Palestine," "Palestinian," and "Israeli occupation" from historical displays after the Board of Deputies and pro-Israel activists complained. Director Nick Cullinan lied about it being a standard refresh backed by visitor research. No research happened. One panel describing ancient rulers of "Palestinian descent" got changed to "Canaanite origin" in five hours. This wasn't careful scholarship. This was panic. Museum staff were ordered to be "hyper-conscious of the anniversary of 7 October." They swapped "modern Palestine" for "Gaza and the West Bank" at gallery entrances.
