Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman called Trump pushing for strikes on Yemeni Houthis. Trump declined. That's the whole story. MBS doesn't get what he wants, and Trump's not playing Saudi Arabia's proxy war games right now. The Yemen conflict is costing the Saudis billions while the Houthis keep winning territory and hitting infrastructure. At some point even Trump figures out that throwing more American firepower at it doesn't change the math.
