Energy Secretary: Data centers will lower electricity prices

Chris Wright, Trump's Energy Secretary, just claimed data centers are "the greatest tool we have right now to stop the rise of electricity prices" and that Gov. Hochul has it backwards for opposing them in New York. This is backwards. Data centers consume massive amounts of power. New York's grid is already strained. Adding more load doesn't lower prices, it raises them. The claim relies on some future tech salvation that doesn't exist yet. Wright is either lying or doesn't understand basic grid economics. Probably both.
