Nearly 61% of homeowning seniors in Texas have been exempted from school district taxes entirely. Meanwhile younger, poorer Texans bankroll the system. This is generational wealth protection dressed up as policy. You've got older, relatively wealthier citizens completely off the tax rolls while younger people who can't afford homes are still paying. That's not fiscal wisdom, that's rigging the game.
