Paris suburb outbuilds most of America
This is just a Paris suburb. It's denser than nearly every American urban neighborhood. Why? Because the US has a pathological fear of apartment buildings. And that fear tracks: most American apartments are genuinely terrible, so people reasonably avoid them.
But when you actually build apartments correctly, with ground-floor parking, mixed uses, real street life? It works fine. This entire street is new. It exists. We're just choosing not to build it here.
This street is new. Every inch of it.
