Rebranding genocide: the new erasure tactic
Someone is now calling the Holocaust "the German-Jewish conflict" to normalize language around atrocity.
This is the rhetorical strategy: strip away moral weight, dissolve historical clarity, flatten genocide into something that sounds like a disagreement between equals. Conflict. Not extermination. Not industrialized murder of six million people.
The quoted tweet beneath it signals the real game: European criticism of Israel's actions gets dismissed as misunderstanding the ground reality, while simultaneously reframing systematic violence as something else entirely. Language first, then the facts follow where you point them.
This is erasure dressed up as precision.
I’m beginning to suspect that the Europeans are reacting to an imagined version of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, not the actual conflict on the ground. Btw, Hamas is absolutely operating in Judea and Samaria (West Bank).
