West Virginia is talking about using 50% of hyperscale data center revenue to slash state income taxes. Except data centers don't employ many people, so the tax base doesn't actually grow. You're just shuffling money around while the actual workforce that pays income tax stays flat. The state gets dependent on one industry and workers see almost nothing.
It's a grift dressed up as economic development.
