Kyiv's liveability ranking is tone-deaf nonsense
Someone got rated as one of the world's least livable cities by people who've never actually been there. Meanwhile, people who've lived in Vienna, Melbourne, Vancouver, Tokyo are choosing Kyiv anyway.
Cost of living on a Ukrainian salary is brutal. The city is literally under constant bombardment. But there's a vibe there that doesn't show up on spreadsheets. The rankings miss everything that matters.
Kyiv was just rated as one of the WORST/LEAST LIVABLE cities in the world. I'm willing to bet any amount of money that the people who created this list have never even been here. As someone who has actually been to Vienna, Melbourne, Sydney, Vancouver, Tokyo, and could easily live in any of the top 10, I've chosen to live in Kyiv. That means I've either insane, or that there is a vibe and lifestyle here that is immeasurable on charts. You just gotta experience it yourself to understand.
