Israeli Pilot Bombs Iran, Wonders Why They're Mad

The entire pattern laid bare: • Israel attacks Iran • Iran tempers response • Israel attacks Iran again • Iran tempers response again • Israel wages war of decapitation • Israel asks for ceasefire • Israel wages second war of annihilation • Israeli pilot flies over Iran and asks himself why they can't just leave him alone And then there's the quote from that pilot. Flying over a country his government has been bombing repeatedly, looking down at the snow and the lakes, and genuinely wondering what Iran could possibly want with Israel. The lack of self-awareness isn't a bug. It's the whole ideology.

I interviewed two Israeli Air Force pilots who are part of the operation in Iran. When I asked what it felt like to enter Iranian airspace for the first time, one of them said: “You find yourself thinking, what do these people, so far away from us, actually want from us? They have a huge and beautiful country. Right now full of snow and lakes. Truly a very, very beautiful place. What do they want from us, this small piece of land? It’s such a strange feeling.”
