US Strips Taiwan's Last Fast-Deploy Unit for Middle East
The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, the only forward-deployed ground force that could respond immediately to a Taiwan invasion, is being pulled and sent to the Middle East.
2,200 Marines. Three warships. 20 F-35Bs. All of it now pointed at Iran.
So while China watches and takes notes, the US is burning its Pacific rapid-response capacity on a war it didn't have a plan to win anyway.
2,200 Marines with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, accompanied by the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group: which consists of the USS Tripoli (LHA-7), USS San Diego (LPD-22), and USS New Orleans (LPD-18), alongside roughly 20 F-35B Lightning lls, have been ordered to deploy to the Middle East, amid the ongoing conflict with Iran, according to ABC News.
