"I don't think Europe is going to bail Trump out of this mess. He's just spent a year hurting their economies, threatening to attack - and pull out of - NATO. Trump started this war without even bothering to consult them. They have historic levels of anti-Americanism because of how we treated them this last year. They're democracies - their leaders won't be able to overcome that, and why would they ? Why send their ships down the Strait as sitting ducks for Iranian missiles ?"
