Ted Cruz flexing $3.99 gas like he won
The quoted tweet isn't him attacking California, it's him bragging that Texas gas is cheaper and blaming Newsom's energy policy for California's prices. Which is absurd theater because:
• Gas prices are set by global markets, not state energy policy
• Refineries are the actual constraint, not regulations
• This is just performative dunking to own the libs while ignoring that prices fluctuate everywhere
Classic Cruz: taking a commodity price at a specific moment and turning it into a policy argument. And the fact he's satisfied with $3.99 tells you everything about his political operating manual.
Just filled my tank. In Texas, gas is $3.99 a gallon. Hey Gavin—the problem isn’t Chevron, it’s California’s stupid energy policies….
