Katie Notopoulos jailbroke an AI to consume Instagram Stories from her Close Friends list and summarize them each morning. She calls it freedom from friendship. This is what automation culture has become: paying a machine to opt out of the basic human act of paying attention to people you supposedly care about. The bit works because it's genuinely bleak.
Probably the most fucked up thing I've done with Muse is have it watch all the Instagram Stories from anyone in my Close Friends list. It sends me a summary of their Stories each morning so I don't have to watch them myself. Finally, I'm freed from the shackles of friendship
