Ben-Gurion: We took their country

"If I were an Arab leader, I would never sign an agreement with Israel. It is normal; we have taken their country. It is true God promised it to us, but how could that interest them? Our God is not theirs." David Ben-Gurion, Israel's first Prime Minister. Netanyahu's response decades later: claims the Jews are not foreign occupiers, not colonialists. But the founder already said it plainly. The land was taken. That admission buried for 70 years while both sides talked around the actual fact on the table.

Netanyahu responds to Obama: The other day, I heard a regrettable statement. It talked about Israel stealing land, Israel losing the moral high ground. Well, let me respond to that. The Jewish people are not foreign occupiers in the land of our forefathers. Our history is not a colonial enterprise. Our land is not stolen land. This is our homeland. It's called Judea. We're not the Dutch in Indonesia. We're not the Belgians in the Congo. We're Jews in Judea.
