California Tries to Criminalize Journalists Exposing NGO Fraud

AB 2624 is a bill introduced by Mia Bonta, wife of California's Attorney General, and it's exactly as conflicted as that sounds. What it does: • Criminalizes journalists with misdemeanors, $10k fines, and imprisonment • Forces content takedowns • Shields immigrant-based NGO funding from public scrutiny • Makes "immigration support services" info entirely off-limits Instead of going after the fraud, they're going after the people exposing it. Classic captured-state move. The AG's wife writes a law that protects organizations from the press, and we're supposed to pretend that's a coincidence.
