Blinken turned down Hamas hostage deal on Oct. 7

Ha'aretz reports Hamas told Qatar on Oct. 7 they'd release all civilian hostages immediately with no conditions. Only ask: a mediator to arrange the exchange, then negotiate soldier releases separately. Israel refused. Qatar then went to Antony Blinken to relay the offer. Blinken's response: "Israel is still under attack, and there's no one to talk to." He declined to pursue it. There was someone to talk to. There was an immediate path to free every hostage. Blinken chose war instead.
