The CSS Hunley is basically the Confederacy's greatest achievement and it's a submarine that managed a 1-3 kill-death ratio by repeatedly obliterating its own crew. Killed everyone aboard on three separate occasions, sank one Union ship. Perfect metaphor for an entire failed state: impressive engineering in service of catastrophic incompetence.
