DeSantis and Cruz pointed out that dumping $1.3 trillion in spending onto a $2 trillion deficit would detonate the debt and torch inflation. The White House response: mocking them as "Math-Letes" and "Nerds."
When the policy is indefensible, mock the people asking math questions. Peak governance.
The senior WH adviser had a different read on the competition: "Ron and Ted — the co-captains of your old high school Math-Lete Team — will nerd out on this while jockeying for 11th place in '28. Meanwhile POTUS is putting cash in Americans’ pockets."
