Trump just defended Russia and China for helping Iran by saying the US does the same thing all the time.
He's not wrong. But he's saying it to deflect from his own threats against allies and complicity with whoever helps him. The hypocrisy isn't that America does covert intervention. It's that Trump brands himself as a nationalist strongman while shrugging at Putin and Xi, then turns around and demands Europe fall in line.
