DoD fires Stars and Stripes editor for independence

A Defense Department editor was terminated for telling a CBS reporter who he actually works for: Stars and Stripes, not the Pentagon, not the administration, not policy makers. That's the offense. Stating his employer. The military's own news outlet can't have someone publicly claiming editorial independence from the chain of command. This is what happens when you work somewhere the brass wants to control the narrative. The firing itself becomes the story.
