China opens Arctic shipping route, halves transit time

China's launching the first regular "Ice Silk Road" service this week, cutting Turkey and North Africa to China from 40 days down to 20. This is climate change in real economic terms: melting Arctic means new trade corridors, and China's already positioned to own them while the West is still debating whether the melting is real.
