Ted Cruz is screaming about El-Sayed and Mamdani wanting to ban your holidays and impose Sharia law. This is the same recycled panic Cruz has been running for years: Democrats are coming for your traditions, your faith, your way of life. It's a grift. A pure grift. When you have nothing on someone's actual policy, you invent monsters. El-Sayed just spent weeks explaining that criticizing AIPAC isn't antisemitism, that being Muslim and being American isn't a contradiction. Cruz didn't engage with that. He just screamed Islamist and moved on. And now Trump's team is obviously panicked. Vance is preemptively mocking El-Sayed. Cruz is inventing culture war ghosts. They wouldn't be flailing this hard if they didn't see him building something real.
