Trump cuts secret deal with Yemen's Houthis

US officials met the Houthis at the embassy in Muscat on Sunday. The deal: Trump won't strike Houthi territory or back Saudi Arabia. In exchange, Houthis keep the Bab el-Mandeb open to shipping, except Saudi vessels. This happened days after Mohammed bin Salman called Trump twice begging for strikes and air support. Trump refused both times. Oman brokered it all in secret. The Houthi delegation included Mohammad Abdulsalam, who's under US sanctions. The group itself is still officially a US-designated terrorist organization. The Houthis say they won't hit American ships, will stick to the 2025 ceasefire, won't touch Israeli vessels or commercial traffic. Only Saudi ships.
