Trump locks down Greenland with "permanent" security deal

Trump announced the U.S. got "permanent control over security" in Greenland at "NO COST," blocking adversaries from any military presence or sensitive investments without American approval. Denmark's official statement is doing a lot of diplomatic work here: they're framing it as Arctic security cooperation while insisting it respects Greenland's sovereignty and self-determination. The agreement still needs parliamentary sign-off, so this isn't done yet. The gap between Trump's ownership language ("control") and Denmark's sovereignty language should tell you everything about what was actually negotiated versus what was claimed.
