Manhattan neighborhood went from 833 to 60000 people

In 1970, this section of Manhattan had fewer residents than a small town. Now it's got 60,000 people packed in. That's not gentrification, that's transformation. Urban density went nuclear and nobody talks about what that actually means for a place that used to exist.
