SpaceX now owns the cell phone band

SpaceX just acquired the 800MHz low-band spectrum nationwide. Combined with the $22 billion in black-band spectrum purchased in 2025, Musk now controls the hardware to turn Starlink into a major US mobile carrier. Low-band hits the sweet spot for ground-based cellular and indoor coverage. This wasn't available to SpaceX before. Now Starlink Mobile has the pipes to actually compete as a telco, not just a satellite internet play. The FCC just handed one man control over critical communication infrastructure that Americans depend on.
