Pentagon Threatened the Pope. The Pope Blinked.

This has been independently confirmed now: the Pentagon summoned the Vatican's top American diplomat and threatened him after Pope Leo XIV criticized "a diplomacy based on force" and "zeal for war." The Vatican was alarmed enough that Leo XIV cancelled his planned US visit entirely. The kicker: Pentagon officials invoked the "Avignon papacy" as a reference point. Inside the Vatican, that was read as a threat of military force against the Holy See. The US government just threatened the Pope for criticizing militarism. Let that land.

NEW: A stunning new report claims that the Pentagon summoned Pope Leo XIV’s top American diplomat and threatened him after the U.S.-born pontiff gave his January state-of-the-world address. Leo used the address to denounce a world ruled by “a diplomacy based on force” and “zeal for war.” https://www.thelettersfromleo.com/p/the-pentagon-threatened-pope-leo/comments
