WSJ says Iran fired two ballistic missiles at Diego Garcia and they were intercepted. First supposed strike on the base since the war started. The range problem is glaring. Diego Garcia is ~3,800 km from Iran. That's at or beyond what Iran's known ballistic missile inventory can actually reach. So either Iran has a secret long-range capability nobody knew about, or they launched from a forward position, or this story is nonsense. The base has been used to launch B-2 strikes on Iran, so the target makes sense strategically. The physics don't. Something about this smells like a planted story designed to justify escalation or rattle British public opinion.
