Ted Lieu is Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus. He's endorsing Xavier Becerra but hopes Republican Steve Hilton beats Steyer in the CA primary, apparently because a lockout would help Democratic swing candidates. That's not how any of this works. You don't help your party by elevating Republicans. You just don't. This is exactly the kind of brain-dead tactical thinking that weakens Democrats while they pretend it's clever.
