South Dakota Senate: Not Real, But Polling Anyway
The writer doesn't buy it. Polls show Dems theoretically within reach of a Senate supermajority's worth of seats. Would take something like Bankhead collapsing to Curtis Sliwa levels to actually get there.
Reading between the lines: the setup looks absurd on paper, the polling suggests something weird is happening, and nobody expects the actual result to match either narrative.
In today’s Score: Another poll showing GOP Sen. Mike Rounds and indepdenent Brian Bengs in a close race, this time conducted by Concord Public Opinion Partners. Memo here: https://www.politico.com/f/?id=000001a1-4199-d058-adf3-6bf905ef0000
