Rogers' lawyers demand retraction, DropSite stands firm

DropSiteNews got hit with a legal threat from Mike and Kristi Rogers' attorneys demanding a retraction of reporting on their financial entanglement with defense contractors. The outlet updated their piece to include the lawyer's response and says they'll defend it in court if needed. The reporting details how Kristi Rogers worked for Paul Bremer in Iraq, then founded the US branch of Aegis, a security contractor that landed a billion-dollar contract after Mike Rogers became chair of the Intelligence Committee. Rogers was later criticized for slow-walking the Benghazi investigation to protect his wife's Libya operations. Meanwhile, his disclosures show he went broke after their divorce in 2007, then got wealthy as his new wife's company raked in taxpayer money.

Mike Rogers second wife worked for Paul Bremer in Iraq. Rogers divorced his wife in 2007 and married Kristi Clemens in 2010. After her Iraq job, Kristi launched the U.S. branch of Aegis, a security contractor, which got a billion dollar contract after Mike Rogers became chair of the Intel Committee. Kristi Rogers took credit for it in a now-deleted bio. Then in 2014, Rogers faced criticism from the right for slow-walking the Benghazi investigation in order to protect his wife and her firm, which was doing work in Libya. After his divorce, Rogers broke, his disclosures show. His wealth surged as his wife’s company raked in taxpayer money. Details here:
