You Moved Next to the Racetrack, Genius

Reno had the National Championship Air Races for decades. Then people bought cheap land nearby, moved in, complained about the noise, and killed it. This is the classic playbook. You don't shut something down in one shot. You nibble at it until it's gone.

Many great Race tracks were killed by people moving near it knowing there was track then complaining enough to get it shut down. You must always remember that nothing gets done in one swoop it’s always death by thousand cuts.

The death of the Reno Air Races is a textbook case of people destroying what was already there when they arrived, then acting like victims.
