Scott defends Iran strikes: nuke threat trumps gas prices
Rick Scott just said the quiet part out loud. This isn't a war, it's "defense" against Iran getting nukes. And yeah, high gas prices suck, but dead kids from nuclear weapons suck more.
The argument works until you ask why the US gets to dictate who can have what weapons. Israel has 200+ nukes. Pakistan has them. Nobody's bombing Tel Aviv or Islamabad "defensively." The selective application is the whole game.
But Scott's pitch is simpler: fear beats every other concern. Gas, economy, jobs, inflation. All secondary to existential threat. It's effective politics. Whether it's accurate is a different question.
