Del Monte bankruptcy means 420k peach trees die

California farmers are being forced to destroy over 400,000 peach trees because one company went under. This is what happens when agriculture gets concentrated into a few corporate hands - the system can't absorb a single failure without catastrophic waste. The trees could produce food. Instead they're getting axed for financial engineering failures.
