Mormon leadership bans prediction markets

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints just ordered members to stop using Polymarket. Twice yearly, the church's top leadership holds a global conference and drops guidance. This time, prediction markets are explicitly forbidden. A guy posting about the announcement is right: the Mormons call it "verboten" in their own internal documents. No speculation. No betting on outcomes. The institution is tightening control over what members can do with their money and attention. It's the church protecting its flock from "gambling" (their word), but it's also the church deciding what financial activities are acceptable for faithful members. When an organization with that much reach says no to something, it matters.

twice a year the Mormons have a worldwide zoom where the big boss tells you what’s up looks like “prediction markets” are verboten
