CBC tells staff 9/11 isn't terrorism
The New York Post reports that Canada's CBC instructed newsroom staff not to refer to 9/11 as a "terrorist attack" in coverage, which is absurd enough to spark the exact culture war reaction it inevitably will.
This is what happens when institutional caution collides with editorial cowardice. Someone in a meeting decided that the word "terrorist" was too loaded, too Western, too something, so instead of defending a basic descriptive term they just told everyone to avoid it. The result: a guideline so embarrassing it immediately becomes the story.
