Dallas in the early 1900s was something else. The American Empire was meant to look like this and now it's mostly a flat parking lot. "If the car had simply been invented 100 years later, America would have built 1,000 of the greatest cities in the world." We destroyed our own urbanism for speed and made everything worse. The choice wasn't inevitable. It was a decision.
