Strip club worker misclassification lawsuit exposes wage theft

500 exotic dancers at E11EVEN Miami allegedly treated as independent contractors while getting stiffed on minimum wage and overtime. This is the playbook: classify people as "contractors" to dodge labor laws and benefits. The quoted take here is dead on: businesses don't operate without the people actually doing the work. Treating workers like disposable labor while pocketing their value is the default move. It takes active effort and actual business integrity to not do it. The lawsuit might finally force accountability.

I love the great city of Miami and am proud to be doing business here, I won't have anything to do with venues who show nothing but disrespect. "MIAMI — A new lawsuit filed last week alleges that as many as 500 exotic dancers and entertainers who worked at the 24/7 dance and strip club E11EVEN Miami were misclassified as independent contractors and stiffed minimum wage and overtime pay." https://avn.com/news/legal/lawsuit-charges-e11even-miami-with-misclassifying-exotic-dancers-169359 I encourage all local business owners to treat your employees with respect, your business couldn't operate without their hard work!!
