Trump claims high oil prices are making the country "more money than it has ever made." That's economically backwards. Higher oil prices extract wealth from consumers and businesses that have to pay more at the pump and for energy. The US isn't a net oil exporter benefiting from price spikes. This is the economic literacy of someone who thinks revenue and profit are the same thing, then confused both with national wealth.
