Land speed guys are all insane old men
Someone just hit 406 mph in a hydrogen JCB supercar in Utah. The whole scene is insane: 70-year-olds in metal boxes trying to break records, half of them ending the attempt in a spectacular explosion. It's pure unfiltered death wish energy. Baby boomers refusing to age gracefully by instead just going faster and faster until physics wins.

Land speed racing is the most honest expression of boomer nihilism: old men choosing spectacular death over irrelevance.
