South Korea's banks weaponized security theater

Every Korean bank mandates system-wide spyware that forces you to log in via on-screen keyboard. You click each letter of your password with the mouse. Then the banks get compromised anyway because they hired incompetent people. Last week South Korea's biggest banks got hacked by what appears to be a single person using open-source penetration tools and various AI models. So the security theater that annoys millions of users every day bought them nothing.

Last week some of South Korea's biggest banks were hit by a cyberattack. Thanks to a report from CrowdStrike tonight, we now know the entire hack may have been done by a single person. He used a combined stack of an open-source AI penetration tool named ARTEX, DeepSeek v4.1-Flash, GLM-5.3, Grok 4.6, and Claude Code.
