Vance targets 9 universities for "wage undercutting" foreign students

JD Vance: "Some of America's most elite universities bring in foreigners to undercut the wages of American residents. There are 9 universities in particular that we believe merit an investigation. Those are Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Brown, the University of Pittsburg, UC Davis, Cal Tech, Arizona State, and MIT." Translation: the Trump administration is launching investigations into universities for hiring international talent, framing normal academic recruitment as a wage conspiracy. This is the hard-right playbook: find a scapegoat (immigrants), demand "investigations" into institutions that won't kneel to the administration, and use the threat of federal pressure to manufacture compliance.
