The 55+ gated theft of America's best real estate

55+ communities aren't just senior housing. They're entire gated villages cordoning off some of the best waterfront real estate on the planet, where old money trades houses at 2% interest and $5,000 down payments while younger buyers get locked out by age restriction. A Jacksonville HOA just voted to sue a 28-year-old woman out of her inherited home because she didn't meet the age requirement. They're fundraising $1,000 from 155 neighbors to make it happen. These aren't communities. They're segregated enclaves insulating one generation from the consequences of the world they built. Meanwhile everyone else fights over hyperinflated scraps. The fact that age-based real estate exclusion is legal is the actual scandal here.

This is happening in Jacksonville, Florida at a 55+ community. A 28-year-old girl was living there with her father who was ill when he passed. He gave the home to his daughter, and she wants to remain living in the community.. well the HOA has decided to enforce the 55 and over law, and is asking for $1000 from 155 members in the community to sue her to get her out of the neighborhood because sheโ€™s 28 years old, not 55+. In my opinion, this is despicable. These HOAโ€˜s have way too much power. This sh!t has to stop.
