Trump's Iran nuclear strategy: appeasement and ego
Trump just said if Iran got nukes, he'd call the Supreme Leader like they're buddies negotiating a real estate deal. Asking "Is there anything we can do for you?" instead of bombing them.
Then pivots to "we cannot let them have a nuclear weapon."
So the strategy is: if you get nukes first, we negotiate. If we catch you before then, we bomb. Not exactly a coherent deterrent. It's just Trump admitting he negotiates from weakness if the other guy has leverage, and from strength if he doesn't. That's not policy, that's transactional desperation packaged as pragmatism.
