Issue 10 May 4 – May 10, 2026
Week of May 4
The war entered its next phase with Iran hitting Gulf infrastructure and declaring the UAE an enemy, while Trump claimed victories on wars he never fought and Congress kept surgically erasing Black districts. The whole apparatus now runs on empty branding, buried autopsies, and grift dressed up as governance.
The war has no endpoint, and the intel says so. Netanyahu confirmed the war isn't over, with Israel now demanding strikes on Iran's entire energy grid as its price for any restart. Meanwhile all 18 US agencies agree Iran can't build a nuke, the CIA says a blockade would take 3-4 months minimum to bite, and the US already burned $1.2 billion a day for nothing. Rubio accidentally revealed the con and admitted they can't actually stop Iran.
Iran went from posturing to hitting Gulf infrastructure. An Iranian strike hit a UAE export hub, Tehran declared the UAE an enemy state, and a Strait closure could spike gas another $1-2 a gallon. Saudi and Kuwait blocked Trump's Hormuz gambit outright. Iran meanwhile trolls America better than any official response, and called out Trump's fictional record on wars he never fought.
The settlement pipeline reached New York institutions. Israeli operators openly marketed Palestinian-free neighborhoods through NYC synagogues hawking West Bank real estate, until Mayor Mamdani blocked the expo. Schlossberg's doublethink tried to condemn the protesters instead.
Congress keeps surgically erasing Black districts. Tennessee Republicans eliminated a Black district, Louisiana has purged Black representation for 145 years, and Alabama rammed redistricting through a tornado.
Governance is now empty branding. The White House posts cryptic nothing that gets fact-checked by strangers, while MAGA evangelicals literally bless a gold Trump statue and Melania insists on his empathy to open laughter.
