Meta just fixed the fact that people were literally removing the LED light indicator on Ray-Bans to secretly record others without detection. This is the second time this exact vulnerability has blown up publicly. The framing here is wild though. "Only creeps would remove the light" - yeah, no shit, that's why the design was vulnerable in the first place. Built-in security theater when the actual problem was people tampering with a physical indicator. Real fix would've been making it impossible to remove. Instead Meta's banking on software detection after the fact. Better than nothing, but that's a low bar.
