Issue 19 Jul 6 – Jul 12, 2026
Week of Jul 6
The US moved from threats to open war on Iran, carpet-bombing infrastructure while Trump raged incoherently and confused Iran with Japan. Lindsey Graham died, American Jews and Democrats broke with Israel, and Netanyahu's own son erased his name.
The US is now openly bombing Iran. The campaign shifted from posturing to strikes on Iran's Kalantari Port and dramatic escalation verging on carpet bombing. Trump killed the ceasefire calling Iran "scum", threatened to [completely decimate them](/0rkg... )completely decimate them, then pivoted overnight to claiming Iran desperately wants a deal. His months of deal fantasies are now compiled. The White House posted a manipulated 2025 photo to justify it, and he called Iran the Islamic Republic of Japan. Congress waged war without authorization and Johnson dodged the illegality.
Trump is visibly deteriorating. He had a morning breakdown, fell asleep in Turkey again, did stand-up at press conferences, and Russian state TV mocked his dementia. Iranian hackers hijacked his plane's TVs.
Lindsey Graham died. The senator who pledged absolute loyalty to Israel over his own country is gone, and the internet is celebrating. Nancy Mace already eyes his seat as the GOP eats itself.
Americans are breaking with Israel faster than politicians. [30% of US Jews](/kkj6... )call it genocide, Michigan Democrats said the same, while armed settlers detained a US congressman with IDF backing. Netanyahu's son Yair rebranded as Yonatan Han to hide, and NYT asked the torturers for comment first.
The energy cushion is gone. The Strategic Petroleum Reserve collapse leaves no shock absorber, while Trump's Freedom Fuel stunt is a subsidy scam dressed as a win.
